Painting: Sherwin-Williams has a Lifetime Warranty exterior paint line, Emerald.  A little bit more in materials cost, thou alot longer life and good for resale.  Ask them for their preferred contractors, they often get a 30% contractors discount on the paint (they pass on to the customer sometimes).  There are 3 Sherwin-Williams paint stores in Honolulu.  I have compared this paint to its competitors, and their’s a reason you see a commonality of painting contractors using this paint.  The closer the color is to white (more zinc/physical barrier in the paint), the stronger the paint is.  Sherwin-Williams Paint Store 2733 S. Screen & Glass Doors– Ask for Makana (808) 330-6058  – they can change the rollers in sliding doors to make a door slide like NEW.  It’s amazing, and at a cost of around $200-300 per door (depending on the type of rollers you replace with), it’s alot more economical than changing a door.  They offer stainless steel rollers for most doors that last alot longer.  Most sliding doors in Hawaii start fatiguing around the 10 yr. mark.

Locksmith-To be updated.  Kwikset offers electronic and now bluetooth locks and deadbolts.  Kwikset also offers the Re-Key feature on most locks, which allow you to re-key the lock with just: the Current Key, a special Pin, and a New Key.
